Value Add: Free Google Search Console Setup for Kvcore
Always looking for additional services we can provide our awesome clients, we are now adding FREE Google Search Console setup to our ever-growing list of options. What does this mean? We will add your kvCORE site to Google Search Console, submit your website’s sitemap, and add your site to Google’s webcrawler queue- essentially telling Google that there is an awesome new site on the interwebs that it needs to check out and start ranking in SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages). We’ll provide you with site owner permissions so you can log in any time and see what search queries you are showing up for, click-through rates, keyword analysis, etc.
Now for the nitty-gritty…
If you are still using an agent subdomain with your kvCORE site (ie. firstlast.exprealty.com), submitting a sitemap to Google Search Console isn’t going to do you any good since the sitemap is actually for your Office kvCORE site. You can still add your site to GSC, but you’ll have to manually request each URL be indexed.
How do I manually request each URL be indexed?
Great question Eddie!
When you’re logged into Search Console, click on ‘URL inspection’ on the left. You will be prompted to enter a URL. Enter the URL you would like to be indexed. Google will do a quick search to grab the indexing status. There will then be a box that informs you of the current status and there will be a link stating ‘REQUEST INDEXING’. Hit that link. That’s it!
How do we get all IDX listing pages indexed by google?
I’m not going to say it’s impossible to get them all indexed, but the cards are not stacked in your favor… and getting them indexed is a moot point if you’re not consistently ranking in the top few search results. It is HARD to get listing pages to rank above the big sites like Zillow, Trulia, Realtor, etc.
To increase your chances of getting pages indexed (IDX or content pages), get your own domain on your site, verify your site with Google Search Console and submit your sitemap. You can try resubmitting your sitemap on a regular basis to notify Google of new pages but in our experience it’s never really helped. Google recrawls sites on a pretty regular basis.
To get them to rank you’ll need to publish a ton of original niche content on your site to start building your domain authority, get high domain authority sites to link back to your content, etc. Basically, take a wholistic approach to your site SEO.
